I used to be a professional dancer before transitioning to Product Design. People often find it surprising when I say I draw design inspiration from my background as a professional dancer. Through experience, I have found many parallels between dance and product design. Fundamentally, just as I tell a story through the language of movement as a dancer, I now convey stories through the language of design. Both professions are all about engagement.

A dynamic action shot of me, India, dancing in a rustic studio, mid-motion, with one arm supporting my weight as my body arcs above it. The studio features weathered wooden floors, exposed brick walls, and blue pillars.

Professional Experience

Enterprise software firm specialising in HR and payroll. In my role, I primarily consulted, planned, and conducted research. I also contributed to the redesign of the Pay module for both app and web interfaces.

  • Improved user satisfaction by redesigning a key managerial feature that resolved navigation issues.
  • Contributed to designing an interactive payslip which will be used by 5 million employees monthly.

  • Established a research bank, mock repository, employee directory, and set up a peer to peer learning community to enhance research operations.

A two-month freelance research project for an online travel agency exploring potential business model changes. My task was to pinpoint opportunities for strategic improvement.

  • Conducted 15 detailed interviews with travel group organisers, surpassing the initial goal of 10 for more insightful data.
  • Condensed findings into two jobs-to-be-done profiles outlining specific pain points and improvement opportunities in the booking and planning process.

  • Provided the travel agency with actionable insights to make data-driven business decisions resulting in a new UI highlighting and promoting solutions to user needs on their online booking system.

A realistic soft pastel drawing I created of a blue tit perched on a branch, inspired by a photograph by Paul Howes, used with permission. The bird's vibrant feathers are carefully detailed, while the blurred background keeps the focus on the subject. My signature appears in the bottom right corner
